Michael and Carole Long and Patricia Coffee, on December 1, announced that their children Michelle Long and Kevin Coffee are finally engaged.
Kevin and Michelle were first to meet at Nancy's home in July 1998. However, the first meeting fell through as Kevin was delayed by a prior engagement (a.k.a. a date) About a week later, the couple went on an actual date with out the benefit of a third party introduction. That early July date was followed by two more after which Michelle was reported to have commented,

"You're nice but there's just no spark."

More ego injured than enamored, Kevin continued to pursue Michelle. Within weeks and possibly as the result of family and friends reminding them

"I still can't figure out why she wants to marry...Maybe she needs therapy," said Mrs. Coffee.

"I think our offer of the 30 acres and a mule convinced him," commented the Longs.

"I still can't figure out why she wants to marry...Maybe she needs therapy," said Mrs. Coffee.

Nancy (Washington) Davis, childhood friend of Kevin and lifelong cousin of Michelle brought the two together. When asked about her thoughts on the outcome of her handiwork she answered,

"I think it's a great thing! Who else would have them?"

"you're getting old...don't be so picky," the two fell for each other. Since then, they have been inseparable.

...Seriously

We wanted to take a few moments to share our good news with you all. We thank and praise God for bringing us together and look forward to a long and wonderful union.

We will be married in a small ceremony in July 2000 and hope you all will keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Love To You All
